About The Position

Provide transportation services to the community’s residents, staff, and guests by safely operating the property-owned shuttle or bus within the designated route and to specific identified destinations, and by complying with all Department of Transportation traffic and motor vehicle safety regulations.

  • Scheduling routine vehicle maintenance with approved mechanics and vehicle service centers
  • Performing visual inspections of tires, windows, doors, seatbelts, and the overall condition of the bus and/shuttle
  • Acting quickly to correct any potential malfunction or safety feature of the vehicle
  • Picking up trash and debris, wiping down the seats and windows each day, sweeping out the aisles, and washing the exterior of the vehicle
  • Parking in the designated areas
  • Keeping the vehicle locked when not in use
  • Preventing access to the vehicle by unauthorized individuals
  • Keeping keys in the approved, secure location
  • Staying informed about highway and DOT laws
  • Exercising good judgment and safety awareness when operating the vehicle
  • Reporting all mechanical and operational defects and issues to the Community Manager
  • Following approved procedures for spending budgeted dollars to maintain the operation of the vehicle
  • Answering questions
  • Explaining routes and stops
  • Providing assistance as needed to riders who are disabled or need additional assistance to get on or disembark from the vehicle
  • Completing various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis
  • Performing other duties as assigned or as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Provides transportation services to the community residents, staff, and guests by operating the property-owned shuttle or bus, following the established routes, destinations, and stops, and by adhering to the established timetable and schedule for operating the transportation services.
  • Ensures the bus and/or shuttle is in good working condition by scheduling routine vehicle maintenance with approved mechanics and vehicle service centers, performing visual inspections of tires, windows, doors, seatbelts, and the overall condition of the bus and/shuttle, and by acting quickly to correct any potential malfunction or safety feature of the vehicle.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the bus/shuttle by picking up trash and debris, wiping down the seats and windows each day, sweeping out the aisles, and washing the exterior of the vehicle.
  • Provides for the security of the bus and/or shuttle by parking in the designated areas, keeping the vehicle locked when not in use, preventing access to the vehicle by unauthorized individuals, and keeping keys in the approved, secure location.
  • Follows all state and local regulations related to motor vehicle operation by staying informed about highway and DOT laws, and exercising good judgment and safety awareness when operating the vehicle.
  • Reports all mechanical and operational defects and issues to the Community Manager and follows approved procedures for spending budgeted dollars to maintain the operation of the vehicle.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service to riders by answering questions, explaining routes and stops, and providing assistance as needed to riders who are disabled or need additional assistance to get on or disembark from the vehicle.
  • Completes various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.
