About The Position
The Maquoketa Valley School District has an opening for a bus driver. This position is initially part-time, with the possibility of transitioning to full-time. The role involves transporting students safely to and from school and extracurricular events, adhering to a set route, and ensuring the well-being of all passengers. Key duties include performing pre-trip inspections, following traffic and safety regulations, and maintaining order on the bus. Effective communication with students, parents, and staff is also essential.
Requirements
- Must have a CDL with a school bus passenger endorsement or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities
- Transport children and other passengers to and from school
- Obey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive to their destination safely
- Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
- Ensure the safety of all students when entering and leaving the bus
- Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
- Engage with students as they enter and leave the bus
