About The Position

The purpose of this position is to transport clients to and from Center, medically related appointments, social service agencies, parks and recreation programs and special events. Operates a bus to transport clients. This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Requirements

High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years of public transportation experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state, CDL Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement and an acceptable driving history.
Chauffer’s License required.
CPR/First Aid Certifications (or must obtain within 6-month probationary period and remain valid throughout employment).

Nice To Haves

School Bus endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

Transports participants to and from the Center for Active Aging, to medically related appointments, social service agencies, special events, and other designated destinations.
Transports participants to and from City-wide special events and parks and recreation programs.
Operate various transportation vehicles, including 12-25 passenger accessible buses and a large activity bus.
Assists participants with entering and exiting the bus, and with wheelchairs and walkers.
Follows established city rules and regulations related to the operation use of buses.
Provides reports on routing, passengers, maintenance, and mileage.
Cleans interior and exterior of vehicles daily.
Inspects bus daily for any damages.
Checks bus engine for issues.
Assists staff members as requested.
