About The Position

Cardinal Ritter College Prep is seeking dependable, safety-conscious, and student-centered Bus Drivers to provide safe transportation for students to and from school, athletic events, field trips, academic competitions, and other school-sponsored activities. The Bus Driver serves as a representative of Cardinal Ritter College Prep and is expected to uphold the school's mission, values, and commitment to excellence while ensuring the safety and well-being of every passenger.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid Missouri Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
Current Missouri School Bus Permit.
Current Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate.
Clean driving record with an acceptable motor vehicle history.
Ability to pass criminal background checks, fingerprinting, drug screening, and all required pre-employment screenings.
Ability to obtain and maintain all certifications required by state and federal regulations.

Nice To Haves

Previous school bus driving experience preferred, but not required.
Strong commitment to student safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
Knowledge of defensive driving techniques and traffic laws.
Dependable, punctual, and professional.
Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.

Responsibilities

Safely transport students to and from assigned destinations according to established schedules.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and complete required inspection reports.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly bus at all times.
Ensure all students follow school transportation rules and maintain appropriate behavior while riding.
Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus safely.
Follow all Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), Missouri State Highway Patrol, and school transportation regulations.
Promptly report accidents, vehicle concerns, maintenance needs, student incidents, or emergencies to the Athletic Director or Director of Transportation.
Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and trip documentation.
Communicate professionally with students, parents, coaches, school personnel, and administration.
Transport athletic teams, academic groups, and other organizations for school-sponsored events, including evenings and weekends when assigned.
Fuel buses as needed and report any maintenance issues immediately.
Attend required safety meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.
