About The Position

Provide Trip Transportation both locally and out of state, driving a 14-passenger company van, based on a pre-determined monthly schedule. Occasionally be available for unexpected trips or transportation needs. Ensure safe and timely transportation for all residents and/or staff participating in any trips. Work closely with the Life Enrichment Director and Life Enrichment Coordinator to develop monthly trip destinations and dates/times. Adhere to company and department policies and procedures. Communicate clearly and timely with staff and residents regarding availability and confirm details. Provide professional, courteous, and considerate service to residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Valid New Hampshire Driver’s License.
  • Have ‘Medical Examiner’s Certificate’ renewed every 2 years.
  • High school education or higher.
  • Excellent clerical and computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.

Responsibilities

  • Review monthly calendar to ensure complete understanding of work needs.
  • Update on-line calendar with trip details/destinations.
  • Track Trip signup sheets and participation for future reference.
  • Attend various meetings as requested by management.
  • Assist residents with safely boarding and exiting vehicles, ensuring proper support and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and speed regulations to ensure safe and compliant transportation.
  • Attend annual in-service programs and other required training as assigned.
  • Work positively and cooperatively with all department personnel as well as residents to provide a welcoming environment.
  • Have a working knowledge of all HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate, as needed, with Life Enrichment staff for support of trip transportation coverage.
  • As needed, be available for medical transportation coverage; collaborate as needed with management and the Medical Driver to assist as needed.
  • Maintain clean exterior and interior of transportation vehicles.
  • Maintain sufficient fuel in transportation vehicles.
  • Keep open ongoing communication with Facilities maintenance department and Life Enrichment management regarding safety and well-being of transportation vehicles.
  • Daily, review interior and exterior of transportation vehicles to ensure proper functionality.
  • Before and following each transportation, inspect transportation vehicles, report any accidents, scrapes, dents etc., utilizing proper incident reporting.
  • Report all/any resident accidents during transportation immediately and follow company policies and procedures in doing so.
  • Have working knowledge of all transportation safety features such as but not limited to seatbelts, wheelchair lifts and wheelchair tie-downs.
