About The Position

Safety-sensitive position regulated under the Department of Transportation, responsible for driving transit passenger vehicles on designated routes. The position provides courteous and timely service to transit and trolley customers and is estimated to average approximately 20 hours per week. Transit operations run Monday through Friday and half-days on Saturday, and are closed Sundays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or three months of experience as a bus driver or in a similar position; an equivalent amount of education and experience is acceptable.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. and perform all other demands of the job satisfactorily.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Valid CDL, Class B or higher, with a P endorsement required after hire.

Nice To Haves

• CDL, Class B or higher, with a P endorsement at the time of application is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive transit passenger vehicles on designated routes.
• Drive charters within Daviess County when assigned.
• Provide courteous and timely service to transit and trolley customers.
• Maintain clean vehicles and bus shelters.
• Assist disabled passengers.
