The smelter processes copper concentrate primarily from our company’s Arizona copper mines and is the most significant source of sulphuric acid for our North American leaching operations.

Requirements

Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Strong communication skills and ability to follow radio or dispatch instructions
Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.
Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going drug and alcohol testing, as allowed by applicable laws.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED
Experience operating on industrial or mining sites
Three months of previous professional driving experience (bus, shuttle, commercial transport, heavy equipment)

Responsibilities

Safely transporting employees between designated parking areas and mine sites in support of a 24/7 operation, ensuring passengers arrive safely, on time, and in compliance with transportation and site safety standards.
Supporting shift changes by operating on a schedule that may require a single four-hour shift or split shifts based on operational needs.
Safely operating company-provided buses while adhering to traffic laws, site rules, and internal safety protocols.
Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting issues, and maintaining vehicles in a clean and safe condition.
Ensuring passengers load and unload safely and follow required safety rules, providing direction during transport and in emergency situations.
Maintaining accurate logs, including trip sheets, attendance counts, mileage, inspection records, and incident reports.
Performing other duties as requested.
