About The Position

Safely operate an assigned school bus for transporting students from home to school and/or to and from school-related events.

Requirements

• Must possess a current Virginia Operator's License/Commercial Drivers License (CDL) properly endorsed to operate a school bus.
• Must be eighteen (18) years of age, at the minimum.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous bus driving experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of Lynchburg City streets and laws

Responsibilities

• Cooperates with school officials to provide safe and efficient transportation for students.
• Maintains an assigned schedule on a specific route and consults with the supervisor or dispatcher regarding suggested changes.
• Maintains acceptable standards of conduct and dress.
• Maintains courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with parents, students, school staff, school officials, and all levels of employees.
• Works the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks.
• Performs related duties as necessary and as assigned by the supervisor for transportation.
