About The Position

KIPP OKC Public Schools is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious, and student-centered part-time school bus driver to transport scholars to and from school. The position guarantees 20 hours per week and requires availability for both morning and afternoon routes. The driver is responsible for completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, following assigned routes and transportation procedures, maintaining a safe and respectful bus environment, and communicating transportation or student safety concerns to school personnel. The role also includes keeping accurate transportation records, completing required reports, and participating in additional training as needed.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for school bus operation.
• Valid school bus driver certification.
• Ability to pass required background checks and drug screenings.
• Willingness to complete additional driver training as necessary.
• Reliable transportation and consistent, punctual attendance.
• Ability to safely operate and inspect a school bus.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to scholar safety.

Responsibilities

• Complete the required pre-trip bus inspection and prepare for the morning route before departure.
• Safely transport scholars to school, following assigned routes and ensuring arrival by 7:35 AM.
• Return to campus by 2:00 PM and prepare for the afternoon route.
• Safely transport scholars from school to their designated drop-off locations according to the route schedule, completing the final drop-off by 4:30 PM.
• Return the bus to campus and complete the required post-trip inspection and end-of-route documentation.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful environment on the bus.
• Comply with applicable state and federal transportation regulations and school policies.
• Communicate transportation concerns, delays, vehicle issues, and student safety concerns to appropriate school personnel.
• Maintain accurate transportation records and complete required inspections and reports.
• Participate in additional driver training as needed or required.
