About The Position

The role of the Busser/Attendant/Server Assistant is to provide a clean dining area bussing tables in an efficient, courteous and accurate manner. Provide assistance to Bar/Lounge/Restaurant. This role is responsible for obtaining service area assignments, promptly greeting guests, removing used tableware, clearing tables, cleaning table tops, chairs, and booths, responding to guest requests, communicating with servers and hostesses, assisting servers with food delivery, thanking guests as they leave, and filling in as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations. The Busser/Attendant/Server Assistant may also be responsible for washing dishes in the absence of a dishwasher and adhering to legal standards for alcohol service. The position also focuses on creating 100% guest satisfaction through genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations. This involves giving personal attention, taking responsibility, using teamwork, listening, apologizing with empathy, finding solutions, following through on resolving guest problems, and providing ongoing genuine hospitality. The employee is expected to notice when a guest is not satisfied and use their best judgment to ensure 100% Guest Satisfaction. Additional duties may be assigned by Management to ensure guest satisfaction and hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain service area assignment(s) at the beginning of each shift.
  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring water to table.
  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
  • Clear tables after guests. Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
  • Promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths between seating. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests.
  • Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
  • Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
  • Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
  • Thank guests as they are leaving.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
  • Washes dishes in the absence of the dishwasher and/or as directed by the servers and manager.
  • Abide by legal standards and TIPS alcohol training guidelines for alcohol service to guests.
  • Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.
  • Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems.
  • Provides Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis.
  • Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction.
  • Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guest.
