About The Position
JSW Steel USA is seeking to hire a Burner to join our team! This position operates in a heavy industrial steel mill environment and may involve exposure to heat, dust, noise, and moving equipment. Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Ability to follow all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a heavy industrial environment.
- Must be available to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights).
Responsibilities
- Burn steel slabs according to required dimensions and specifications.
- Cut test pieces from slabs as required for quality and inspection purposes.
- Assist supervisors and team members to complete assigned tasks and production targets.
- Remove slag and clean burn edges from slab cuts as needed.
- Follow all work instructions, operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Report any deviations, issues, or concerns to the Slab Yard Lead.
- Coordinate with crane operators for safe and efficient slab movement.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
