About The Position

The Burn Table Operator is responsible for independently operating and maintaining plate processing equipment within the Plate Shop. This role supports production by cutting, forming, drilling, and preparing metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications.

Requirements

2 years of experience preferred
Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to safety or health of employee or others.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Good understanding of computer operations.
Ability to read blueprints and understand parts.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma and 2 years of experience in shop environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Layout, position, secures parts according to specification.
Ensure correct material is used according to the Job Traveler.
Ensure that all parts are marked with Job #.
Verify that all remnant plates are marked with proper HT#, PO# before they are returned to storage.
Organize unloaded parts in job kits.
Understand all burn table functions and daily maintenance requirements.
Operate burn table as necessary to produce parts.
Oversee daily production of items produced.
Inform Plate Shop Lead of shortages or material issues.
Safely operate a forklift, overhead crane and combilift to handle materials and completed work.
Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
Respectfully take direction from supervisor or manager.
Load and unload trucks.
Maintain cleanliness and order in work area.
Prepare and clean parts.
Remove rough spots from work piece using portable grinders or hand files.
