Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a skilled Burn Table / CNC Router Table Operator for their 2nd shift. The role involves operating a burn table to cut materials, ensuring quality and precision in the process. Requirements

  • Prior experience using a burn table to cut materials ¾” to 8-1/2” within a manufacturing environment or equivalent technical schooling is required.
  • Basic oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions in English and complete basic logs and reports in English.
  • Physically able to lift, push, pull, and position heavy components as required.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and adhere to company timekeeping and all other policies.
  • Ability to consistently stand for the entire duration of the shift in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Able to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team player.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and reliability in all tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional welding skills.
  • Familiarity with grinding tools, drill presses, and ironwork is advantageous.
  • General mechanical knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading parts onto the burn table.
  • Adjusting the table settings.
  • Loading and unloading the cutting torch.
  • Monitoring the cutting process.
  • Following process sheets, blueprints, or verbal instructions to complete production tasks accurately.
  • Maneuvering large or heavy parts manually or with the assistance of a crane or forklift.
  • Inspecting cuts throughout the process for quality and using grinding tools as necessary to achieve desired finishes.
  • Keeping machines and work areas clean and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Inspecting finished work to ensure it meets predetermined tolerances and standards.
  • Assisting in other areas or departments as assigned to meet production needs.
