The Burn Program Manager is responsible for coordinating the operational, quality, performance improvement, verification, outreach, and regulatory activities of the UI Health Care Burn Program. As Iowa's only burn center, the program serves as the state's tertiary referral resource for specialized burn care, education, prevention, rehabilitation, and recovery services. Working collaboratively with the Burn Medical Director and multidisciplinary burn team, the Burn Program Manager supports compliance with American Burn Association (ABA) Burn Center Verification standards and maintains continuous readiness for verification and reverification activities. The position coordinates program performance improvement activities, supports burn registry and quality reporting functions, facilitates statewide outreach and referral development efforts, and advances strategic initiatives that improve patient outcomes, access, and program performance. The Burn Program Manager serves as the primary coordinator for Burn Program verification readiness, performance improvement, quality oversight, outreach, prevention, education, and multidisciplinary program operations. Registry personnel and data abstraction functions remain organizationally aligned within the Trauma & Burn Quality Program infrastructure to promote standardization, operational efficiency, and consistent performance monitoring across trauma and burn services. The Burn Program Manager works in close partnership with registry, analytics, quality, and operational leaders to ensure the integrity of burn program data, regulatory compliance, and continuous program improvement. The position also oversees human resource functions such as creating new roles, supervising performance, and managing all aspects of the burn registry and associated personnel.
