About The Position

The Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America (BRCA) is committed to following its mission: Healing Patients. Healing Families. Healing Lives. BRCA is the nation's most extensive burn system, providing quality burn, hand, wound and reconstructive care to patients through new facilities, new partnerships and the latest advancements in care. Headquartered in Augusta, GA, Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America provides services from the nation's largest individual burn center: the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. This is a part-time, night time position. The Burn Information Services Representative facilitates burn calls, properly documenting and routing calls, and processing and maintaining medical records following all rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three years related experience and/or training

Responsibilities

  • Answer and transfer calls according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Scan and upload patient information into charts via EHR System.
  • Must work as a team player and be willing to assist other team members with other duties.
  • Take on new duties as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required by Management.
  • Distribution of facility faxes and electronic faxes.
  • Assisting with chart reviews, gathering patient information, then distribute it to the respective insurance representative.
  • Medical interpretation.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Participate in education sessions specific to corporate needs or job duties – locally or remotely, as needed.
  • Provide training to other employees – locally or remotely, as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Participate in all mandatory trainings relating to applicable healthcare laws and regulations, and demonstrate full compliance with those regulations, including without limitation, HIPAA, OSHA, OIG, Federal, State and local laws and regulations.
