About The Position

The company is seeking fully bilingual Burmese interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for local clients in the Lincoln, Nebraska area. Interpreters use their cultural knowledge to assist non-English speakers, including in medical settings. This is an independent contractor position with flexible, as-needed hours; work is not guaranteed and depends on interpreter availability, languages spoken, and client needs. Applicants must have some availability Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., when services are typically needed. Candidates must provide proof of vaccination or qualifying medical or religious exemption documentation before the interview. Medical information will be handled confidentially. Applicants should include all languages they speak on their resume.

Requirements

• Fully bilingual.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Must have transportation to attend local appointments.
• Technical skills to learn and use an online portal, including printing and uploading vouchers.
• Must have access to a printer.
• Some availability Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Provide proof of vaccination or documentation of a medical or religious exemption before the interview.
• Complete required background checks and drug screens.
