About The Position

Under the direction of the supervisor, workers perform production, maintenance or janitorial duties as assigned to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, yield and Cost goals. Each operator is responsible for and has the necessary authority to ensure quality, including stopping production to correct quality non-conformance.

Responsibilities

• Uses appropriate safety measures
• Uses appropriate measurement equipment and techniques as trained
• Records and maintains documentation and data as required.
• Follows applicable work instructions.
• Uses good housekeeping skills to maintain the work area.
• Follows directions and instructions of all supervisory personnel.
• Maintains good relations with co-workers, management and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Prepare stock for 601 and/or 602 Block.
• Keep auto-pointer loaded at all times.
• Report damage or problems to the block operator, coordinator, or supervisor.
• Observe the overhead track system for proper operation.
• Report any maintenance or quality issues to the operator.
• Prepare point on tube reduced stock for 601/602 Block.
• Insert pins and point coils for redraw material.
• Observe the operation of upender and downender for any possible malfunctions.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Follow all quality procedures.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
