Bulk Vacuum Truck Driver Representative
About The Position
Crystal Clean is seeking a Bulk Vacuum Truck Driver Representative to provide sales and service for approved waste streams at automotive and industrial businesses. The position frequently involves using hoses to load and offload oil tanker trucks and vacuum trucks from containers, waste storage units, trenches, and underground holding chambers. The representative may also be required to perform responsibilities of the TSSR and AFSR positions. Attendance at the branch is required throughout the standard work week. Weekly schedules are determined at the discretion of the Regional Manager. The role combines customer service, route sales, waste-stream pumping and vacuuming, equipment and vehicle inspection, and business development in an assigned geographic area. Compensation consists of a weekly base salary plus uncapped commission; actual earnings vary by performance and location.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interact with customers, sales branch employees, and other corporate departments.
- Ability to operate equipment such as mobile phones, scanners, and computers.
- Ability to maintain a valid Class B CDL license and all required endorsements.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have or be qualified to obtain a Class B CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
- Valid driver's license.
- Clean motor vehicle record with no major violations, such as DUI, cell phone violations, or failure to wear a seatbelt.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
- Ability to lift hoses up to 55 pounds frequently, climb ladders frequently, and lift grates, manhole covers, and other plates frequently.
- Ability to occasionally pull or drag hoses weighing up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to maintain a firm grip and control of a hose during pumping, including when vacuum pump kickback occurs.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol screening.
Nice To Haves
- Previous sales experience.
- At least one year of Crystal Clean route sales experience.
- Class B CDL with endorsements.
Responsibilities
- Work safely in all job aspects and functions.
- Promote and foster safety and efficiency among employees and in work activities.
- Provide customer service and develop new business in an assigned geographic area.
- Pump approved waste streams from customer containers into trucks.
- Vacuum approved waste streams from customer container units into trucks.
- Align work orders to minimize mileage and travel time.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for safe operation.
- Assess potential customer needs, present Crystal Clean products and services, and develop new customers.
- Develop sales leads for Data-Marketing.
- Complete required paperwork accurately and neatly.
- Maintain a D.O.T. driving log.
- Follow corporate policies and standards, including environmental and regulatory, human resources, facility, equipment, operations, and maintenance requirements.
