Bulk Team Leader
About The Position
The Bulk Team Leader upholds Earth Fare’s vision, standard operating procedures, merchandising guidelines, and financial goals for the Bulk Department. The role provides exceptional customer service, maintains a safe and sanitary department, communicates positively and professionally with Team Members in other departments, and assists elsewhere in grocery when necessary. The Team Leader maintains bulk-item production and storage, ensures proper product handling, knows the department’s bulk varieties and packaged goods, and maintains quality control. Operational duties include ordering and receiving deliveries, scheduling, reviewing sales and movement reports, shrink reports and emails, responding as appropriate, and conducting quarterly department inventory. The role also develops and maintains an attractive sales floor in accordance with Earth Fare merchandising guidelines and keeps department fixtures, storage areas, work stations, freezers, and coolers clean, sanitary, and organized. This is a full-time or part-time position at Earth Fare Summerville in Summerville, South Carolina. The work is fast-paced and customer-service focused; it may involve brief periods in extreme cold or heat and periodic travel for meetings. The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, with team assistance for heavier items, as well as bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, maneuvering heavy loads, and standing for most of the workday.
Requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with a positive and professional manner.
- Strong organization, time-management, and multitasking skills.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper storage and display of organic products.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to learn and use a Falcon handheld computer scanner.
- Desire to develop and grow a career with Earth Fare.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; team assistance is required for items weighing more than 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, squat, push, pull, and maneuver heavy loads.
- Ability to stand and be on one’s feet for the majority of the workday.
