This position is responsible for providing ingredients to the tote and bag dumping stations, ensuring a constant and proper supply to the converter lines. Additionally, it involves providing and setting up totes of finished product to the packaging lines where support is needed. Requirements

  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are critical.
  • Must be able to report to work on time, maintain regular attendance, and work scheduled hours as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous lift truck experience.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Must have basic proficiency of English language to comply with verbal and written directions, signs, policies and procedures.
  • Willing and able to stand on a frequent basis.
  • Willing and able to work overtime.
  • Willing and able to work various shifts.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Driving Lift Truck to secure totes, skids, and super sacks of ingredients from the warehouse and positioning them at dumping stations and super sack stations.
  • Returning empty skids and totes to proper storage in the warehouse or to the tote wash area for cleaning, and neatly stacking super sacks for recycling.
  • Removing trash from the area and depositing it in the trash compactor, trash truck, or recycle bin.
  • Transferring powder from super sacks to totes as needed.
  • Sampling, inventorying, sorting, and aligning bulk ingredient inventory.
  • Performing safety and mechanical inspections of the lift truck prior to the start of each shift.
  • Maintaining records of ingredients used, ensuring they are correct and properly cleaned before use, and taking routine or special samples as needed.
  • Regulating and maintaining an adequate rate of ingredient flow to the converters.
  • Dumping all bagged, boxed, or barrelled ingredients according to batch card instructions, including reprocessing to the converter lines.
  • Coordinating with the converter operator to ensure a proper supply of ingredients at respective stations and to minimize changeover time.
  • Assisting with building cleaning in the work area and weekend clean-up.
  • Being proficient and knowledgeable in MES/SAP to maintain accurate inventory and usage of ingredients by item and location.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Supplying machine centers with packaging and raw materials.
  • Inspecting materials before use, verifying correct material and raw ingredient usage to meet CCP requirements, and rejecting any damaged or deficient materials.
  • Maintaining a food factory level of sanitation.
  • Communicating with operators, mechanics, and management.
  • Operating and adjusting packaging equipment in a safe manner.
  • Modifying running conditions to maintain performance standards.
  • Following safety objectives and targets, plant safety rules, reporting incidents and unsafe conditions immediately, maintaining compliance with regulations, and referring to the Safety Management System for safety-related procedures and programs.
  • Adhering to the Nestlé USA Waverly Environmental Policy, the Pollution Prevention Plan, and Annual Environmental Objectives & Targets.
  • Supporting the continual improvement of energy conservation, solid waste minimization and management, and pollution prevention within the scope of the position and throughout the plant.
