About The Position

The Bulk Plant Operator supports our cementing operations by safely and accurately blending and loading cement, chemicals, and/or acid used for pumping jobs. This role ensures materials are prepared to exact specifications and delivered efficiently to the wellsite.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in bulk plant operations
  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
  • Strong math and measurement skills (ratios, volumes, percentages)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with MSDS, PPE, TDG, and emergency response protocols
  • Willing and able to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call
  • Must be able to lift up to 65 lbs
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching; occasional climbing, kneeling, or crawling
  • Requires use of respirators, safety gear, and visual precision for various tasks
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in team meetings and field settings
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employment sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Operate bulk plant systems to load cement, chemicals, and acid per job requirements
  • Monitor and control blending equipment, pressures, and flow systems
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the plant; perform equipment maintenance
  • Review job sheets and coordinate blend specifications
  • Safely load/unload supplier deliveries using forklifts or pallet jacks
  • Maintain inventory levels and ensure samples are properly stored and tracked
  • Complete and submit accurate shipping and inventory documentation
  • Drive bulk trucks to assist with cement loading as needed
  • Adhere to all safety standards and report hazards or incidents promptly
  • Attend weekly safety meetings and support a culture of Crew Resource Management
  • Exercise stop-work authority when needed for safety or process concerns
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and organizational goals
  • Execute daily Bulk Plant operations, including loading cement and additives, housekeeping, inventory control, and sample storage and tracking.
  • Accurately calculate, measure, pour, and weigh cement, chemicals, and/or acid for blending operations.
  • Monitor and adjust pneumatic pressures and valve controls to regulate material flow during blending and loading processes.
  • Safely load blended materials (cement, chemicals, or acid) into bulk or acid trucks for delivery, and retain field samples as required.
  • Load and unload supplier deliveries using pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on plant equipment (e.g., blowers, forklifts, and other bulk equipment).
  • Support cement-loading operations by driving Bulk Trucks when required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records for all plant materials.
  • Complete all required documentation (e.g., shipping papers, inventory logs, blend/load records) with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Adhere to and promote American Cementing Safety Standards at all times—in the shop, yard, field locations, and during travel.
  • Promptly report hazards, near-misses, incidents, and injuries to the supervisor.
  • Actively participate in weekly safety meetings and safety training activities.
  • Understand and follow all operational, technical, and safety standards applicable to assigned tasks.
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority and use assertive communication to raise concerns or suggest safer or more efficient methods.
