About The Position

We are currently looking for a motivated, autonomous and a team-oriented individual to join our operations team in Edmonton, Alberta as a Warehouse / Bulk Plant Operator! As a Warehouse / Bulk Plant Operator in our Edmonton facility, you will be responsible for receiving and shipping various commodities into and out of our warehouse for Energy and Industrial customers. Additionally, you will also receive chemicals, including dangerous goods, from railcars and will transfer bulk chemicals to customers by loading bulk trucks. Requirements

  • Experience in warehouse or manufacturing, specifically chemicals (would be an asset)
  • 5th Class Power Engineering preferred; candidates willing to obtain certification will also be considered
  • Completed high-school diploma or completed equivalencies
  • Good general physical condition; ability to lift and work outside in extreme heat of summer and extreme cold of winter
  • Team spirit, motivation and ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and solve different issues
  • Good problem-solving and mechanical skills
  • You MUST be able to wear full face respirator PPE (fit test will be provided)
  • Experience with WHMIS / TDG (would be an asset)
  • Experience with ERP systems, most significantly JD Edwards (would be an asset)
  • Forklift cards and experience operating a forklift (would be an asset)
  • Flexibility to participate in scheduled weekend shifts as required based on operational needs

Responsibilities

  • Operate bulk handling equipment, including pumps, hoses, pipes, valves, load arms, gangways, Reverse Osmosis skid, compressors, heat tracing systems and glycol heating systems
  • Bulk liquid Railcar unloading, including dangerous goods
  • Assist and/or lead the management of railcar siding activity, calling cars into facility and releasing
  • Loading liquid chemicals into bulk trucks, including dangerous goods
  • Blending of bulk liquid chemicals, including dangerous goods, transferring either to bulk trucks or packaging.
  • Daily monitoring and reporting of bulk liquid inventories
  • Receiving, storage, shipping of general warehouse items as defined by our policies, procedures and processes
  • Manage occasional contractors working on site by providing documented work permits, which include field level hazard assessments, mitigating actions and special considerations.
  • Assists with safety programs (TDG, WHMIS, ISO, Responsible Distribution, Lockout Tagout, etc.)
  • Assist with general up-keep of building and basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Participation in related training as required
  • Lead and/or assist in Heating Plant boiler operation and maintenance as required
  • Operate forklift truck with proper certification
  • Processing paperwork (i.e. warehouse release, bill of lading, certificates of analysis and cover sheet)
  • Review daily shipment edit list to ensure orders are being handled to meet customer needs and expectations
  • Help with quarterly physical inventory counts, ensuring accurate inventory (quantity/lots/locations)
  • Printing warehouse release requests, bill of ladings, certificates of analysis
  • Regular communication with Logistics, Customer Service and Procurement functions to ensure we are meeting customer and operational requirements
