About The Position

The Niemann Harvest Market Bulk Foods Specialist is responsible for providing superior customer service, driving sales and profitability, and managing expenses and payroll budgets effectively. The role ensures effective inventory management, merchandising, and compliance with store policies and procedures while fostering the Niemann Harvest Market culture. The specialist is responsible for the store’s bulk products, including grains, flours, dried fruits, candies, nuts, and spices. They maintain product quality through department checks, proper handling and rotation, and day-to-day attention to stock levels, inventory, and cleanliness. They engage and educate customers about bulk shopping, use suggestive selling and sampling, and stay knowledgeable about the seasonality, uses, and tastes of products. They also support established programs, promote sales, coordinate pairings and tastings with other departments, build relationships with producers and makers, and source current-trend products for guests. The role follows health-code and safety requirements and company policies and procedures. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned. Position requirements may vary by store location, and Niemann Foods Management may add to or change them at any time.

Requirements

No education or experience is required.
Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively before groups of customers and associates.
Apply basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Obtain Food Handler’s Certification when required by state law; provided at store level.
Complete forklift/power industrial truck training; provided at store level.
Demonstrate prioritization and multitasking, attention to detail, problem-solving, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Communicate effectively, build relationships with people, and demonstrate curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Regularly walk, use hands to handle or feel items, reach with hands and arms, communicate, taste or smell, and lift or move up to 50 pounds; frequently stand, lift overhead, balance, and lift or move up to 75 pounds; occasionally sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Promote and support established programs and sales.
Carry out day-to-day operational procedures to maintain stock levels, inventory, and cleanliness.
Work with other departments to arrange product pairings and tastings.
Follow company programs, policies, procedures, health-code guidelines, and safety policies; serve as a safety role model.
Connect with and build relationships with producers and makers, follow trends, and source products for guests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
