About The Position

The Agency of Transportation is seeking a candidate to assist the Facilities Section with construction project management and major maintenance. The primary purpose of the Facilities Section is to oversee the construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of Agency of Transportation facilities, train stations, and airports. This position assists the team leader with gathering building information, making periodic site visits, documenting findings, on-site meetings, and reporting findings to the team leader. Other responsibilities include researching "as-built" information, evaluating the existing conditions of all aspects of our facilities, evaluation of structural conditions of buildings, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, septic, security, and energy consumption. Position will also work with Job Order Contract (JOC) vendors to provide construction services statewide. This is a position that will provide skills, education and experience that will support future career growth. As part of a five person team, this position may be responsible for the facilities in a specific geographical portion of the state, to be determined. The majority of job duties will require significant travel, but occasional office work may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
  • OR Associate’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field AND two (2) or more years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, project management, construction supervision, or related field.
  • OR Six (6) or more years of experience in engineering, architecture, construction management, or construction supervision.
  • Private means of transportation must be available for required travel.

  • Attendance at public meetings as a representative of the Agency may be required.
