About The Position

You’ll lead our Electrical group, be a key influencer, and contribute to the strategic planning process within our Buildings division. With over 30 years of history, we have a proven track record of projects for various facilities including schools, universities, healthcare, government, aviation, laboratories, campuses, and municipal buildings.

Requirements

  • At least ten years of engineering experience.
  • Proven experience managing a team responsible for the planning, design, and construction of large and complex multi-discipline projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Licensed professional engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of AEC loss prevention measures.
  • Positive attitude and enjoyment in developing relationships with staff and clients.
  • Skillful presenter who can persuade and communicate effectively, particularly with technical concepts/issues and non-technical audiences.
  • Motivating leader and mentor, skilled at providing effective feedback and coaching.
  • Strategic thinker that takes continuous improvement seriously.
  • Analytical and decisive.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop growth strategies.
  • Knowledge of work processes/methods and software tools within the discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.
  • Focus in MEP engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Electrical group and contribute to the strategic planning process within the Buildings division.
  • Execute strategic goals and initiatives, identifying and implementing improvement actions for division processes, tools, and technology.
  • Work closely with the team to promote high satisfaction and retention rates, playing an important role in developing the facilities electrical group.
  • Be accountable for the division’s objectives.
  • Lead or participate in strategic, complex, multi-discipline projects.
  • Inspire the team’s conformance to quality management and project delivery policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage the group’s billability, productivity, and project budget performance.
  • Connect with people within the team and across the firm to coordinate project activities.
  • Govern the group’s resource allocation and oversee project deliverables, while fostering both client and employee satisfaction.
  • Empower the team to improve performance, engagement, and contributions to the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of proposals and cost estimates.
  • Share input in marketing activities.
  • Resolve client satisfaction issues.
  • Work closely with the Electrical Engineering Director to identify priorities regarding infrastructure improvements, industry participation, publications, and technical reviews/audits.
  • Foster an environment of knowledge sharing and technical expertise.
  • Model the performance review process for direct reports and aid in building a strong, healthy, and engaged team.
  • Help the team with short- and long-term training plans, identify staffing needs, and assist with recruiting efforts.
