About The Position

KIPP Columbus is seeking a dedicated Building-Wide Support Teacher (Team Teacher) who demonstrates a track record of instructional excellence and a commitment to going above and beyond for students. This role is crucial in delivering effective, rigorous instruction through an anti-racist lens, ensuring high-quality results and deep student understanding. The teacher will be responsible for internalizing and delivering challenging, engaging lesson plans, collaborating with teams to foster critical thinking, and building a classroom culture that empowers students and affirms their identities. The position also involves creating a responsive environment for parents and families, attending staff meetings and professional development, and participating in daily school functions. This role requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, and an entrepreneurial spirit to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required
Current Ohio Teaching License or willingness and ability to pursue certification by start date Required
1 or more years of lead teaching experience, or has a degree in education Required
Belief that outstanding school leaders, staff, and teachers can achieve excellent outcomes for all students.
Ability to persevere with a sense of optimism, strong problem solving skills, and desire to learn and grow in a collaborative professional learning community.
Willingness, and commitment, to go above and beyond to prove the possible with students.
Ability to multi-task and work within an ambiguous, fast-moving, start-up environment, while driving toward clarity and solutions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Internalize, high-quality, challenging, and engaging lesson plans using provided curriculum resources to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.
Build a classroom culture that empowers students, affirms their identities, and creates a sense of belonging for all students.
Implement the school-wide and classroom management policies and practices.
Create a responsive and inclusive environment for parents and families.
Establish and maintain working relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and team meetings.
Participate in the daily functions of the school such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.
Meet professional obligations including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.
