The role supports learning through hands-on teaching, evaluation, and classroom leadership.
Requirements
- Education equivalent to high school graduation and two years wage earning experience beyond the completed apprenticeship period in Masonry
- OR Education equivalent to high school graduation and three years of wage earning experience in Masonry (if no approved apprenticeship period)
- Possession of or eligibility for a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Certificate I or II for Masonry
- OR Possession of or eligibility for a current Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Intern Certificate for Masonry
- OR Eligibility for a Pennsylvania Department of Education Emergency Certificate for Masonry
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Able to perform essential job functions
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
Responsibilities
- Adapt curriculum materials to meet student needs based on screening and placement results
- Provide instruction across building and construction trade subjects with a focus on masonry skills
- Develop and administer quizzes, tests, and evaluations to measure progress
- Update and maintain education, attendance, inventory, and payroll records according to procedures
- Monitor behavior, enforce rules, and take corrective action to maintain a safe learning space
