About The Position

This position is for an Evening Custodian at Fountain-Fort Carson High School. The primary goal is to provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop. The role involves maintaining assigned areas, performing various cleaning tasks, ensuring building security, and assisting with special events and summer cleanup.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Demonstrate ability to work cooperatively with district staff.
Maintain a neat and clean appearance.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability and willingness to take directions.
Ability and willingness to meet the needs of staff and students.
Excellent references including attendance and punctuality.

Nice To Haves

Up to 8 years of previous experience in similar school type settings.

Responsibilities

Keep all assigned floors in a clean and attractive condition and a good state of preservation.
Perform snow removal.
Demonstrate ability to work independently without close supervision.
Clean assigned work area to include vacuuming, dusting, blackboards, empty waste baskets, pencil sharpeners, restrooms, sinks, and windows.
Perform minor requests as directed.
Conserve electricity and heat, making sure building is secure each evening.
Report vandalism to the head custodian.
Report all unsafe conditions to the head custodian.
Lower flags.
Maintain equipment used as directed.
Perform outside work as directed.
Perform summer cleanup work such as stripping floors, painting, outside work, cleaning light fixtures, washing walls and windows, and cleaning furniture.
Change light bulbs when necessary.
Prepare for special occasions or evening activities.
Advise the head custodian of needed supplies and equipment.
