Building Technician V - (Electrical) (2 positions)
About The Position
The Building Technician V (Electrical) is responsible for performing journeyman level electrical work. This role involves building and maintaining electrical services, reading and understanding electrical blueprints, and utilizing various hand tools. The position requires knowledge of N.E.C. standards, the ability to work from heights, and the completion of daily reports and paperwork. Responsibilities include preparing estimates, operating a bucket truck, performing maintenance and electrical upgrades to city facilities, and obtaining/maintaining a Texas Master License. Adherence to the assigned schedule, city timekeeping and attendance policies, and all city safety guidelines is mandatory. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years' experience in the electrical trade.
- Possess a current Texas Journeyman License.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Texas Master License.
- Ability to maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements without interruption.
Responsibilities
- Perform journeyman level electrical work.
- Build and maintain electrical services.
- Read and understand electrical blueprints.
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, meters, wrenches, drills, and side cutters.
- Understand N.E.C. standards (National Electrical Code).
- Climb ladders and perform work from heights.
- Complete daily work order reports and other related paperwork.
- Prepare estimates on time and materials required for a job.
- Operate a bucket truck.
- Perform maintenance and electrical upgrades to all city facilities.
- Obtain and maintain a Texas Master License.
- Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy.
- Maintain all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements without interruption.
- Follow all city safety guidelines.
