About The Position

The Building Systems Student role is a 4-month internship starting in January 2027 within PCL Constructors Canada Inc.'s Atlantic Canada district, focusing on the Canadian Buildings sector. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on real construction projects, develop in-demand skills through mentorship and PCL’s College of Construction, and build connections through student and networking events. Requirements

• Working towards a degree or diploma in a mechanical or electrical engineering related field.
• A passion for working in a construction environment.
• Ability to review shop and construction drawings.
• Self-motivation with a hands-on approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with a variety of different partners.

Nice To Haves

• Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Updating and submitting mechanical and electrical shop drawings.
• Reviewing and verifying site installations.
• Assisting with quality control.
• Updating and inputting the commissioning schedule.
• Witnessing and coordinating commissioning activities.
• Assisting with Request for Information (RFI) tracking and processing.
• Performing on-site coordination with trades and reviewing progress on site.
• Tracking deficiencies.
• Assisting other project managers on the project related to other disciplines/trades.
• Other duties as required.
