As an Engineer I on the BSE Team, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic design group to plan, design, and bring to life innovative building systems across a diverse range of projects. Requirements

  • BS in Structural Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Professional Licensure
  • An ability to perform difficult technical computations and consolidate acquired data
  • Ability to interact effectively across organizational boundaries to achieve goals and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, power distribution, lighting and low-voltage systems, and structural components
  • Working knowledge of Revit and other relevant design programs
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office tools
  • Effective leadership, and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Engineering, analytical, and technical writing skills with attention to detail
  • An understanding of construction plans/specifications
  • A background in mentoring junior staff

Responsibilities

  • Collect owner drawings and documentation
  • Perform Codes and Standards review
  • Set up and produce Revit drawings efficiently while using internal standards and templates
  • Prepare drawings; including plans, details, schematics, and schedules
  • Perform site investigations and document existing conditions
  • Implement changes to design or project documentation based on written or verbal descriptions from senior engineers
  • Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, and managing links
  • Attend internal coordination meetings and communicate with other disciplines
  • Attend client meetings and create meeting minutes
  • Prepare engineering reports and opinions of probable construction costs
  • Perform building condition evaluations and prepare reports
  • Produces designs that have minimal QA/QC comments and minimal drawing presentation mistakes
  • Perform quality assurance/control reviews on others’ work
  • Prepare specifications
  • Review and approve submittments
  • Perform construction punchlists
  • Attend construction meetings
  • Assist CPL senior leadership with proposal efforts as required
  • Mentor junior staff
