About The Position

The Building Systems Coordinator at PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in Ottawa contributes to the team by assisting the project team with the coordination of building systems trades to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality, and schedule. This role involves supporting the coordination drawing process, understanding and witnessing building systems trade contractor quality-management programs and on-site field testing, and assisting with building systems commissioning document deliverables. The coordinator will attend management and architect meetings related to building systems, adhere to internal safety programs, and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues. A key aspect of the role is developing and maintaining strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with construction progress and sequencing.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a face-paced environment.
  • Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize tasks with conflicting deadlines, and delegate tasks.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and become proficient with new software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Tradesperson or post-secondary diploma/degree in a related discipline (e.g., mechanical, electrical, controls) is preferred.
  • Some co-op or relevant experience in a construction environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project team with coordination of building systems trades for compliance to drawings, specifications, quality, and schedule.
