About The Position

The City of Lenexa Parks and Recreation department is seeking an experienced individual for the Building Services Crew Leader - Night Shift position. This role involves performing, leading, and directing full- and part-time building services workers in cleaning and sanitizing various city facilities, including offices, fitness spaces, and common areas. The position also assists with special events and rentals, sets up for various functions, and performs general maintenance tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
4-5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Performs, leads, and directs full- and part-time building services workers in cleaning and sanitizing buildings, offices, break rooms, fitness spaces, furnishings, and building entrances and exterior walkways of assigned facilities.
Works in close collaboration with the supervisor on contracts, staffing schedules, ordering equipment, and cleaning projects at City Hall, Municipal Services, Public Market, Lenexa Community Center, Lenexa Rec Center, Fire Station #3, and Thompson Barn.
Assists participants with special events, rentals, and programs at a variety of City facilities and parks.
Sets up for meetings, recreational activities, birthday parties, and City events scheduled at several City buildings.
Sweeps and mops floors, dusts and cleans offices, meeting rooms, and other work areas.
Strips, waxes, and polishes floors.
Shampoos carpets.
Operates propane/electric buffers, Grout Hog, Kaivac, and auto scrubbers (walk-behind and ride-on).
Keeps detailed records about facility maintenance, preventive maintenance repairs, and inventory purchases.
Operates City vehicles to transport equipment and supplies to various facilities and events.
Cleans sidewalks and removes snow and ice.
Removes debris and other litter from building grounds.
Drives City and/or personal vehicle to perform essential functions of position.
