About The Position

The Security Officer is responsible for covering the routine security shift as assigned. During those shifts, they will conduct security rounds of the facility checking the physical security of the facility, checking fire extinguishers and other safety equipment, and reporting any safety or security related defects or anomalies. Security Officers will have access to CCTV monitors and will either in person or via CCTV monitor staff in the parking areas during shift changes during their watch. Security Officers are also on call to any emergency at the facility as necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write
• Two years of experience in building security work
• Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring automobile operation)
• Provide a telephone number for on-call availability (24 hours a day)
• Subject to substance abuse testing

Responsibilities

• Conduct security rounds of the facility

• Monitor staff in parking areas via CCTV or in person during shift changes
• Respond to facility emergencies as necessary
