About The Position

The main purpose of this part-time contractual position is to ensure the security and safety of the residents, employees, visitors and state property of Deer’s Head Hospital Center and its outbuildings and grounds, through continuous and efficient surveillance of the Deer’s Head Hospital Center and its outbuildings and grounds, prompt response to emergency situations, and thorough, accurate follow-up investigation of security related incidents.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write.
• Two years of experience in building security work.
• Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland (if assigned duties requiring operation of an automobile).
• Subject to call 24 hours a day and must provide a telephone number.
• Subject to substance abuse testing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with security in a healthcare setting.
• Training in Emergency Response.
• Training in De-escalation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the security and safety of residents, employees, visitors, and state property.
• Conduct continuous and efficient surveillance of the hospital center, outbuildings, and grounds.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations.
• Conduct thorough and accurate follow-up investigations of security-related incidents.
