About The Position

PAE is seeking a motivated and inquisitive Building Performance/Regenerative Design Intern to join their team for the Summer 2027 program. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in sustainable engineering design, providing interns with the opportunity to learn about the building design industry from both a traditional viewpoint and the PAE and LUMA way. Interns will work directly as part of engineering and design teams, gaining an understanding of the entire design process from planning and execution to problem-solving, on projects ranging from small retrofits to high-profile Living Buildings. The program is 10 to 12 weeks long and includes internships in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, lighting design, regenerative design, and building systems technology design.

Requirements

• 3rd year undergraduate student preferred
• Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering major
• Desire to work in the Building Design industry
• Passionate about sustainable design solutions
• Effective Communicator

Responsibilities

• Utilize Revit for analysis
• Energy modeling
• Design calculations
• Energy analysis of HVAC and plumbing systems
• Weather and climatic data gathering
• Eco-charrette support
• Energy and water data (EUI, WUI) analysis
