About The Position

Aero Performance Group is seeking an ambitious and motivated Building Performance Project Engineer to join our growing Building Operational Performance team. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates and early-career professionals interested in HVAC systems, commissioning, energy performance, building automation, facility operations, sustainability, and high-performance buildings. You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers helping healthcare systems, commercial real estate owners, universities, laboratories, and industrial facilities improve how their buildings operate. At Aero, we help clients improve occupant comfort, energy efficiency, operational reliability, environmental quality, and long-term facility performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in: Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, Energy Engineering, or a Related technical field
  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience related to: HVAC, Building Automation Systems, Construction, Energy Engineering, Commissioning, Testing & Balancing
  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, BAS platforms, or energy analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers and senior engineers on building performance projects.
  • Participate in site visits, field investigations, functional testing, and system assessments.
  • Review HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Analyze building automation system trends and operational data.
  • Assist with commissioning and retro-commissioning activities.
  • Help develop reports, technical documentation, and client deliverables.
  • Track project action items, schedules, and documentation.
  • Attend client meetings and support project coordination.
  • Learn industry best practices related to building systems and facility operations.
  • Follow company and client safety requirements at all times.
