Position Summary EXP is seeking a Building Performance Intern to support energy, sustainability, resiliency, facility assessment, and capital planning projects. This position offers hands-on experience working alongside engineers, architects, and technical specialists to evaluate building performance, collect field data, analyze facility information, and support technical studies and reports.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Engineering, Building Science, Sustainability, Architecture, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Interest in building performance, energy efficiency, sustainability, and resiliency.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
Nice To Haves
- Coursework or internship experience related to building systems, energy, sustainability, or facility assessments.
- Familiarity with energy modeling, benchmarking, GIS, AutoCAD, or related technical tools.
- A motivated student interested in learning about building systems, energy efficiency, sustainability, facility assessments, and resilient infrastructure while supporting real-world projects for public and institutional clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist with building and facility assessments.
- Support energy audits, utility data analysis, and benchmarking activities.
- Collect and organize field data, photos, and building information.
- Assist with evaluating building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building envelope components.
- Support sustainability, resiliency, and capital planning initiatives.
- Assist with technical reports, presentations, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams on a variety of facility improvement projects.
