About The Position

The Building Operator, Facilities is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Canada Goose facility.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years, Building Maintenance experience with increasing responsibility in a Medium to Large facilities preferred
  • Post-secondary education
  • Related experience in building maintenance and facility operations
  • Able to think analytically to solve problems
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated
  • Proven leadership skills with the innate ability to take initiative
  • Time management skills; able to multi-task in a changing environment
  • Able to work well with a team as well as independently
  • Ability to implement sustainable and beneficial change
  • Excellent adaptably to working with executives, office staff, warehouse/manufacturing staff and contractors
  • Knowledge of building codes and building material
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Windows)
  • Thorough knowledge of all building maintenance and safe operation practice
  • Driver’s License and vehicle preferred permitting travel to 3 sites located within Winnipeg

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, minor electrical, troubleshooting and repairs of plant equipment and office resources
  • Clean light fixtures and change light bulbs/tubes
  • Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliance, sinks, toilets, blinds, etc.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Perform drywall patch & repair and painting, as required
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance
  • Monitor and maintain adequate supplies and equipment for the facilities department
  • Liaise with contractors and external vendors, as required
  • Active member of Health & Safety committee; investigating and addressing all issues and workplace inspection items noted from monthly meetings
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed
  • Oversee the cleaning team a CGW3
  • Maintain facility inventory
  • File service documents
