About The Position

Lead, Influence, and Shape Building Safety as a Building Official. Are you an experienced building professional ready to take the next step in your career? Join Aoka as a Certified Building Official (CBO) and lead a team of building inspectors while serving as a subject matter expert for our sales team — making a tangible impact on construction quality, safety, and code enforcement across DFW. What You’ll Do Supervise building inspectors and manage inspection programs Serve as a subject matter expert supporting the sales team Conduct client visits as needed for complex or escalated projects Administer and enforce municipal, state, and federal building codes, safety, energy, and accessibility standards Oversee issuance of building permits, plan approvals, occupancy certificates, and inspection reports Interpret complex codes and provide guidance to architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners Collaborate with fire, planning, zoning, engineering, and public works departments for coordinated code enforcement Manage appeals, code updates, and ordinance revisions Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on inspections, permitting, and code compliance

Requirements

  • ICC Certified Building Official (CBO) required
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in building inspection, code enforcement, or construction management
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex code-related issues under pressure
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Additional ICC certifications (Plans Examiner, Building Inspector) highly desirable
