About The Position

Lourdes Noreen-McKeen Residence is seeking a Building Maintenance professional for its faith-based, nonprofit short-term rehabilitation and skilled geriatric care facility. The role is full-time, pays $20 to $22 per hour based on skills and experience, and includes evenings as needed and every other weekend. The employee may also need to work beyond normal hours, on holidays, in other positions as needed, and respond to on-call or emergency maintenance needs. The position involves maintaining the facility and its equipment, completing scheduled and unscheduled repairs, and supporting resident safety when necessary. Work conditions may include frequent interruptions, interactions with residents, families, visitors, personnel, and government representatives, emotionally difficult situations, cramped spaces, and adverse weather conditions.

Requirements

High school or vocational school graduation, or equivalent.
Three years of building maintenance experience, including plumbing and electrical experience.
Ability to speak and write English in an understandable manner.
Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift at least 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry or move that weight at least 50 feet.
May need to assist with resident evacuation during emergencies.

Nice To Haves

Courses in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical work, carpentry, drywall, or building trades.
Demonstrated independent contracting experience in general repairs.

Responsibilities

Ensure maintenance schedules are followed.
Perform routine plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, painting, and other maintenance work.
Maintain equipment in laundry areas, kitchens, boiler rooms, and individual air conditioners.
Perform unscheduled maintenance as requested.
May perform Security Guard duties temporarily or as needed.
Follow the on-call maintenance schedule and respond to calls 24 hours a day as scheduled.
May assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
Work beyond normal hours, on weekends and holidays, and in other positions as needed.
Respond to call-backs during emergencies such as severe weather, evacuations, or post-disaster situations.
