BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Building Maintenance Worker ensures the day-to-day upkeep, maintenance, and smooth operation of the building and campus. The role provides quality service with attention to detail and performs routine cleaning, minor repairs, groundskeeping, safety monitoring, and facility setup. The worker also monitors contract cleaning crew work, requisitions maintenance supplies and equipment, and reports needs for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. The position is located at Kyowa Kirin, 888 Helix Parkway, Sanford, North Carolina. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pay is $35.00 to $37.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Supervisory experience is needed.
- Valid Non-CDL Class C driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality service with attention to detail.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Perform minor repairs to doors, fixtures, and furniture.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water using commercial cleaning equipment.
- Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
- Mow and trim lawns and shrubbery and clear debris.
- Notify managers about the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas and apply snow-melting chemicals.
- Requisition supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for special events.
- Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
- Monitor contract cleaning crew work.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming; gather and empty trash; and service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
