About The Position

Messiah Lifeways is a non-profit organization located in Mechanicsburg, PA, that provides a network of services for adults, 55 and better living in South Central PA. This role supports the ongoing maintenance and repair of Messiah Lifeways’ buildings, systems, and equipment, ensuring that maintenance operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Ideal candidates would be looking for a flexible schedule to support staffing gaps with a Monday through Friday schedule, allowing them to use their gained maintenance experience to support the residents of Messiah Lifeways.

Requirements

Strongly proficient maintenance repair skills – building equipment, appliances, electrical systems, plumbing systems, etc.
Proficient technology skills - Office Suite (Microsoft) and work order management technology
Proficient interpersonal skills - Able to communicate effectively, representing the organization in a professional and engaging manner
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a maintenance, trade-oriented, or mechanical role

Responsibilities

Maintain and/or repair and trouble-shoot kitchen equipment, air handlers, appliances, electrical systems, plumbing systems and fixtures, door/window/and associated hardware repair.
Apply general and home mechanical repair and maintenance practices.
Work with and install plumbing lines, PVC, PEX, CPVC, and copper.
Know how to use an electrical meter to troubleshoot electrical issues and have the ability to replace general electrical items.
Regularly interacts with the work order system and adheres to work order documentation and completion standards.
