About The Position

This position is responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles. It also involves routine groundskeeping to ensure the beautification of the landscape, minor plumbing and carpentry repair work, and regular cleaning and sanitization of the building.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D.
Two years of experience in handling minor building and maintenance repairs.
Good skill in the use of hand and power tools.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to perform heavy lifting.
Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving lifting and carrying of heavy objects (25-50lbs.).
Physical ability to "team lift" heavy materials, supplies and equipment (50-100 lbs.) occasionally.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions.
Valid State Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles.
Performs routine groundskeeping to ensure the beautification of the landscape.
Performs minor plumbing and carpentry repair work.
Regularly cleans building and sanitizes as necessary.
Performs preventative maintenance of Salvation Army vehicles; monitors and replenishes all fluid levels.
Performs routine building maintenance activities.
Performs minor plumbing repairs required by leaking faucets and clogged toilets.
Performs carpentry work required to repair dents and/or holes in walls and paints walls.
Monitors lighting and changes bulbs when needed.
