About The Position

Under general supervision, performs semi-skilled general labor work in cleaning and maintenance of Town parks, park facilities, buildings, grounds, and other areas, in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. This role involves performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance tasks, including plumbing, mechanical, painting, drywall repair, woodworking, plumbing, and masonry work, locks, and basic electrical and wiring work as it applies to building maintenance. The position also includes inspecting structures for damage, hazards, and vandalism, performing basic building maintenance duties, and making repairs as needed to maintain the appearance of Town property. Responsibilities extend to routine maintenance on all Town-owned building facilities and associated equipment, such as HVAC, water pumps, generators, and other mechanical operating systems, as well as repairing building interior and external components and participating in preventative maintenance programs. The role requires operating various trucks and equipment, responding to emergency operations, and performing setup/teardown for special events. Additionally, basic preventative maintenance and repairs on the seasonal community pool are part of the duties, including managing pool water chemistry, servicing pool equipment, and maintaining inventory.

Requirements

  • Must possess State of Arizona Driver's license.
  • Proven experience as Building Maintenance Worker or similar position in the field.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other systems.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
  • Federal and state safety rules and regulations.

  • Town policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs building interior and external components as directed.
  • This includes preventative maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Repair and move office and facility furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Operates a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Identifies and reports mechanical problems requiring additional repair.
  • Recognizes, avoids, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries.
  • Responds as directed to assist with emergency operations and maintenance work.
  • Performs setup and teardown and other tasks for special events as directed.
  • Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on the seasonal community pool to include proper pool water chemistry required by county and state regulations, service and repairs of pool equipment, maintenance of pool supplies inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
