About The Position

The Building Maintenance Technician supports the mission of Gold Cross by ensuring that all building and station facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and general repair work to provide a reliable environment for emergency medical personnel and operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in building maintenance, facilities support, or related field.
General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
Must be able to lift 50+ pounds, bend, and perform manual labor.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with safety standards applicable to healthcare and emergency service facilities preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance of ambulance bays, garages, and support facilities.
Conduct general repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
Ensure station equipment remains operational, safe, and compliant with safety regulations.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from operations and field staff to minimize downtime or disruption.
Complete seasonal facility maintenance, including snow removal, salting, lawn care, and exterior upkeep.
Assist with facility preparation for inspections, licensing reviews, and accreditation visits.
Support special projects, remodels, and facility upgrades as assigned.
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
Develop and manage a preventative maintenance schedule for all facilities and building systems.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and service agreements.
Manage inventory of facility-related supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for routine upkeep.
