About The Position

The Building Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring our manufacturing facility, equipment, and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position is responsible for maintaining the facility, grounds, equipment, and building systems in excellent working condition while supporting daily production activities and minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and productive workplace.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, and general building systems.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights and operating lifts when required.
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or production environment.
  • Completion of technical training, maintenance certifications, or trade school programs.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification and experience.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or work-order tracking software.
  • Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance tracking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects.
  • Maintain doors, hardware, walls, ceilings, flooring, and facility fixtures.
  • Complete painting, patching, and minor carpentry work as needed.
  • Maintain exterior areas including landscaping, sidewalks, parking lots, and common areas.
  • Identify and address facility issues before they impact operations.
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot facility-related issues and implement timely solutions.
  • Coordinate specialized repairs with external contractors and service providers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Monitor facility systems to ensure reliability, efficiency, and operational readiness.
  • Recommend facility and equipment improvements that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Install, relocate, and modify facility equipment, machinery, and workstations.
  • Assist with production line changes, office modifications, and facility reconfigurations.
  • Support utility installations and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Coordinate vendor, contractor, and service-provider activities while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with facility expansion, renovation, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Support facility inspections, audits, and corrective action plans.
  • Ensure facility systems comply with applicable regulations, safety requirements, and BLUvera standards.
  • Participate in safety programs, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
