About The Position

MMS Group is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Technician for a residential property located in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is responsible for the maintenance operations related to apartment home upkeep and unit turns. The technician will maintain residential apartment homes and other areas on the property, including building exteriors, interiors, and public areas. They will perform small appliance, plumbing, electrical, and other repairs, as well as install tile and laminate flooring. The position also involves managing the turnover of empty apartment units, including various repairs, and participating in an on-call rotation schedule for emergency calls.

Requirements

  • Three+ years of residential multifamily property management/apartment maintenance experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Fire Safety certification.
  • Possession of basic tools needed to perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Physical aspects of the job may require heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, balancing, and carrying.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain residential apartment homes and other areas on the property, including building exteriors, interiors, and public areas, regularly.
  • Perform small appliance, plumbing, electrical, and other repairs in residential apartments and other areas of the property.
  • Install tile and laminate flooring.
  • Take part in the on-call rotation schedule, responding to emergency calls according to the company's policy on after-hour emergency calls.
  • Manage the turnover of empty apartment units, including repairs (e.g., sheetrock, taping, sanding, painting, and fixing doors, windows, light fixtures, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as outlined in the job description.
