About The Position

The Study at University City is seeking an organized, service-driven, and hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily maintenance and operation of the hotel. This role is responsible for responding to guest and operational maintenance needs while helping maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment throughout the property. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a variety of maintenance tasks ranging from preventative maintenance and basic repairs to troubleshooting guest room issues and responding to service calls. Requirements

Previous maintenance experience required; hotel or hospitality experience preferred.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Knowledge of safety practices and building maintenance procedures.
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

Vocational schooling, military training, certification, or practical experience in building trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance throughout guest rooms, public spaces, restaurant areas, and hotel facilities.
Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and operational work orders.
Complete general hotel repairs including unclogging toilets and drains, replacing light fixtures, repairing furniture, patching walls, painting, and basic plumbing or electrical work.
Maintain working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, and internet infrastructure.
Inspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
Communicate effectively with hotel departments regarding maintenance needs and project updates.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Support emergency response and safety procedures as needed.
Provide courteous and professional service to guests and team members at all times.
Assist with additional maintenance and operational projects as assigned.
