About The Position

The Study at University City is seeking an organized, service-driven, and hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily maintenance and operation of the hotel. This role is responsible for responding to guest and operational maintenance needs while helping maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment throughout the property. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a variety of maintenance tasks ranging from preventative maintenance and basic repairs to troubleshooting guest room issues and responding to service calls. Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience required; hotel or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and building maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational schooling, military training, certification, or practical experience in building trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout guest rooms, public spaces, restaurant areas, and hotel facilities.
  • Respond promptly to guest room maintenance requests and operational work orders.
  • Complete general hotel repairs including unclogging toilets and drains, replacing light fixtures, repairing furniture, patching walls, painting, and basic plumbing or electrical work.
  • Maintain working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, and internet infrastructure.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with hotel departments regarding maintenance needs and project updates.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Support emergency response and safety procedures as needed.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to guests and team members at all times.
  • Assist with additional maintenance and operational projects as assigned.
