About The Position

The Building & Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of company buildings, grounds, and facilities. This position performs a variety of tasks involving general building maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, carpentry, and preventative maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.

Requirements

  • Experience in one or more skilled trades, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, or general building maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, manuals, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on company buildings, facilities, and grounds.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, piping, valves, and drainage systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on HVAC equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, lighting, outlets, switches, and related building components.
  • Perform carpentry, painting, drywall repair, flooring repairs, and other general building maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect facilities and identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and repair opportunities.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate and work with outside contractors and vendors as necessary.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with facility improvements, renovations, and special projects.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation or respond to after-hours maintenance needs as required.
